I’ve been filming weddings for around eight years now, and officially launched Alex Green Weddings about three years ago. At the core of it, I’m just a creative who loves telling stories — and if I’m being honest (which I usually am), I mostly just love making shit look good on camera.
Weddings aren’t actually my full-time job. Day to day, I work in the music industry as a Head of Video, creating content for artists, products, and campaigns. It’s fast-paced, high-end, and often involves bigger crews and productions — which I absolutely love. But every now and then, I miss the buzz of working solo (or in a small team), pulling a plan together myself, and crafting a story from scratch. Weddings give me that, and that’s why I still do them.
Because I balance both worlds, I’m really intentional about how many weddings I take on each year. I’m not someone shooting 50+ weddings back-to-back. I only book a limited number, which means every wedding gets my full attention. No templates. No cookie-cutter edits. Every couple, every day, every film has its own feel — because no two weddings are ever the same.
I grew up in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and I’m a full-blown camera nerd — always tinkering, upgrading, and obsessing over how to get the best image possible. When I’m not filming, you’ll usually find me escaping in my converted camper van, heading down to Cornwall or over to Wales, or me and my girlfriend are chasing the mountains whenever we get the chance. And if there’s an opportunity to go skiing… I’m probably already packing.
