About RACKLEYS CHILTERN HILLS
A REAL WEDDING I’VE FILMED AT RACKLEYS
I’ve worked at Rackleys as a Buckinghamshire wedding videographer and photographer, capturing the day in a natural and unobtrusive way.
The venue works beautifully on camera. The barn has plenty of character without feeling dark, while the courtyard, terrace, gardens and countryside provide completely different settings as the light changes throughout the day.
EMILY & RYAN - 2026
A relaxed countryside wedding at Rackleys, beginning with preparations at the venue before a beautiful ceremony inside the barn. Drinks in the gardens were followed by golden-hour portraits overlooking the Chiltern Hills and a brilliant evening celebration.

MY HONEST TIPS FOR GETTING MARRIED AT RACKLEYS
KEEP EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE
Rackleys has a really natural flow, with everything taking place in one location. That means less travelling, fewer interruptions and more time to enjoy the day with your guests.
The Woodshed is a spacious preparation area with plenty of mirrors and natural light. From there, it’s only a short walk across the courtyard to the barn, making the transition into the ceremony feel effortless.
The main barn is wonderfully bright for a barn venue. Its vaulted oak-beamed ceiling gives ceremonies and wedding breakfasts plenty of character while still producing clean, flattering light for photographs and film.
MAKE TIME FOR GOLDEN HOUR
If the weather allows, make some time to enjoy the grounds. The terrace and gardens are ideal during the drinks reception, while the countryside views become particularly beautiful later in the day.
I always recommend leaving ten or fifteen minutes around golden hour for portraits. We don’t need to disappear for ages or turn it into a staged photoshoot. A short walk in the softer evening light is usually enough to create some of the most cinematic images and footage of the day.
The barn, courtyard and outside spaces are close together, so I can move between moments without disrupting anything. It allows me to remain discreet while still capturing the reactions, conversations and little details happening throughout the wedding.
